Editing Quiz

1) The 180 degree rule is used to establish the positioning of characters within the scene 1POINT
2) A match on action is where the editing matches what is happening in the scene 1POINT
3) A jump cut is when the scene jumps from one position to another within the scene e.g. someone walking down a staircase 1POINT
4) Shot reverse shot is when the scene cuts from one characters perspective to another e.g. a conversation 1POINT
5) Continuity editing is when the miss en scene is consistent and matches any other shots that may have been filmed in the same scene 0POINTS
6) An eye-line match is when the camera shows a character looking at something and then it cuts to what the character is looking at 1POINT
7) Cross cutting is when cutting is when multiple shots are shown in one scene 0POINTS
8) Pace is important within editing as it can give the audience details which might indicate the genre of a media text e.g. fast paced editing within an action film 1POINT
9)  A wipe is when the scene wipes into the next and a fade is when the scene slowly fades into the next 2POINTS
